  • To receive appropriate orientation to MRC
  • To receive training and education to prepare you for your role
  • To be matched to a job description that fits your comfort level
  • To be provided with food, water and breaks to meet your physical needs during response
  • To receive recognition for your volunteer efforts
  • To know who will provide supervision to you
  • To be provided with information about safety precautions
  • To receive protective medications and equipment as appropriate and available for the situation
  • To be covered under the county’s general liability insurance
  • To contribute to quality program development and response
  • To provide feedback on your volunteer experience
  • To gain a sense of contributing to and improving your community
  • To have a rewarding and fulfilling experience!

What MRC Expects of Volunteers 

  • To complete the application and orientation process
  • To participate in education and training
  • To develop a Personal/Family Disaster Preparedness Plan
  • To follow official response protocols
